Atura't Vall de Boí, National Cow Herding Dog Competition

Barruera hosts for the second year the Atura’t Vall de Boí, the 1st National Cow Herding Dog Competition, with the participation of shepherds and dogs from Catalonia and different parts of the state, as part of the Fira de Barruera. On Saturday, the qualifiers will take place and on Sunday the grand final, featuring a demanding circuit that ends with the livestock being herded into the pen, showcasing the skills of the dogs and herders. With Atura’t Vall de Boí, the Fira de Barruera strengthens its commitment to being much more than a livestock and commercial market. It becomes a space to recover, preserve, and disseminate the cultural heritage linked to livestock farming, promote generational change, and provide an innovative attraction that brings the rural world closer to the general public.
