The Pla de l’Ermita route to Sant Quirc de Taüll is a short and very pleasant itinerary that combines open mid-mountain landscape, traditional paths and historical heritage. It is an easy walk, suitable for all ages, ideal for discovering the natural surroundings of Taüll and reaching a small Romanesque hermitage located on a high point with good views over the Vall de Boí. The route begins at Pla de l’Ermita, a large open area located at the entrance to Taüll, well known for its green areas, accommodation and family spaces. From here, the signposted path that climbs gently towards the hermitage of Sant Quirc is easily identified. The path progresses along wide and well-defined paths, between pastures and old fields. The slope is moderate and constant, which allows you to walk in peace while the landscape gradually opens up towards the bottom of the valley. As you gain a little height, the views over Taüll and the surroundings of Pla de l’Ermita become wider. The route is always clear and without loss, ideal for families or people looking for a short excursion without complications. Finally, the path reaches the Hermitage of Sant Quirc de Taüll, located on a small hill. The surroundings are open and peaceful, with spaces to stop, rest and enjoy the landscape before setting off back along the same path. Points of interest The Hermitage of Sant Quirc is a small building of Romanesque origin, closely linked to local tradition and the historical use of these paths by the inhabitants of the village. Despite its simplicity, the location gives it a strong landscape value. Along the route, the mountain meadows and dry stone banks stand out, characteristic elements of the rural landscape of the Vall de Boí. With a little luck, you can observe birds native to open areas and typical mid-mountain vegetation. The panoramic views from the hermitage allow you to understand the layout of the town of Taüll and its relationship with the surrounding territory. The route is short and of low difficulty, with a gentle gradient and no technical sections. The walking time is short, ideal for doing it in the morning or afternoon. It is recommended to bring comfortable shoes, water and sun protection, especially on sunny days, since much of the route is in open space.
