The Romanesque Circular Route is an emblematic itinerary that connects the main Romanesque villages and temples of the Boí Valley, declared a World Heritage Site. It combines traditional paths, meadow landscapes and open views, with a visit to some of the most important Romanesque ensembles in the Pyrenees. It is a long route but without technical difficulties, designed for walkers with a minimum of experience, ideal for taking it easy and dedicating time to cultural visits. The route begins in Barruera, from where you take a signposted path that climbs gently towards Erill la Vall. This first section runs along wide and open paths, with progressive views of the Noguera de Tor river and the bottom of the valley. From Erill la Vall, the route continues along a traditional path towards Boí. The route is clear and comfortable, between meadows and terraces, with gentle slopes that allow you to advance with peace of mind while the landscape opens up towards the neighboring villages. From Boí, the route climbs towards Taüll, following well-defined local paths. This section gains a little more height, but without difficulty, and offers good views over the valley and the surrounding reliefs. Once in Taüll, the route returns to Boí along a different itinerary, allowing you to make a circular tour and enjoy new perspectives of the landscape and the whole town. Back in Boí, the path continues towards Durro, one of the towns located at a higher point in the valley. The path advances through open pasture areas and offers wide and very pleasant panoramas. The last section descends from Durro to Barruera along traditional paths, closing the circular route. It is a progressive and comfortable descent that allows you to end the day with clear views over the whole valley.
